Downloads
What a Leviathan release contains, which targets it is built for, and how to verify a download.
The first downloadable build is 0.1.0-alpha.1; until it is published this page lists no files.
What a release contains
Each release is a tarball per target. Every tarball holds the complete toolchain for that target:
leviathan, the compiler.trident, the package manager and build driver.prelude/*.lev, the standard library sources that the compiler reads at start-up.- The runtime archives for every supported
--target. LICENSE.README, with the three commands to get started.
A release is published together with a SHA256SUMS file. The version printed by
leviathan --version is the version shown on this page.
License
Leviathan is free to use under the Apache License 2.0 with LLVM Exceptions, for the source and the binaries alike. The exceptions are kept on purpose: programs you compile with Leviathan carry no notice obligation.
Targets
| target | status |
|---|---|
x86_64-linux-gnu |
primary; the first target to ship |
x86_64-pc-windows-gnu |
next |
aarch64-linux-gnu |
lower priority |
The WebAssembly runtime archive is part of the toolchain tarball rather than a separate download.
Verifying a download
Download the tarball and the SHA256SUMS file into the same directory, then check the tarball
against its listed checksum:
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing
The command prints OK next to the file name when the checksum matches. Do not use a file whose
check fails. After unpacking, run leviathan --version and compare it with the version listed
below.
